Ballroom is more than a competition floor. It is a meeting point for movement, music, fashion, discipline and travel—and the international calendar makes that connection visible.

Prague, Portugal and the Philippines: three stages, one rhythm

The World DanceSport Federation’s September 2026 calendar lists major events across Europe and Asia. On September 26–27, Prague hosted a World Open featuring Adult Standard and Adult Latin alongside youth, senior and Rising Stars divisions. Over the same weekend, World Open events were scheduled in Vouzela, Portugal, while Lahug in Cebu City hosted an international open with Standard and Latin divisions.

For A Beautiful Life, the interesting story is not only who danced or who won. Each competition creates a window into a city: where dancers train, what they wear, what music moves the room, how they prepare their bodies, and what travelers can discover beyond the ballroom.

Why ballroom belongs in a lifestyle conversation

Competitive ballroom brings together several of the ideas at the heart of A Beautiful Life. There is style in the costumes and presentation; wellness in conditioning, mobility and stamina; culture in the music and traditions behind each dance; and travel in the international network of competitions that moves dancers from city to city.

That makes every major event a potential story engine: follow the competition, then follow the people, places, clothes, food, music and movement surrounding it.

Next on the calendar

The World DanceSport Foundation’s calendar lists a busy October, including WDSF events in Rome, London, Hanoi, Chicago and other international destinations. Chicago’s WDSF Open is scheduled for October 30–31, creating a particularly strong opportunity to connect the global ballroom conversation with A Beautiful Life’s home-city perspective.
